Wabutech was founded with a simple but powerful vision: to use technology as a bridge between tradition and innovation. We saw firsthand how communities were losing their cultural heritage, languages, and stories to the digital age — not because they wanted to, but because the tools to preserve them didn't exist or weren't accessible.
Our first project, Silichung, was a Rai cultural encyclopedia. We spent months working with elders, historians, and community members to digitize traditions, folklore, and language resources. It wasn't just a software project — it was a labor of love, a responsibility to preserve something precious.
Since then, we've grown from a small team passionate about cultural preservation to a full-service technology studio. But our core values haven't changed: we believe technology should serve people, not exploit them.
